Course Description:
This course will introduce students to the expanding universe and the fundamental particles that create the periodic table of elements. At the end of this course, students will appreciate how fundamental particles interact with each other and how astronomers infer the expansion rate of the universe. Building on this understanding, the course will discuss the big open questions that astronomers and particle physicists are working on.
